Former Kerala Ranji Trophy captain A Satyendran passed away in Hyderabad on Friday. He was 78. Satyendran played 32 first-class matches for Kerala from 1970 to 81 and scored 1291 runs. His lone century was 128 not out against Karnataka at Shimoga in 1979. He also used to bowl medium-pace. He captained Kerala in five matches, four in 1973-74 season and one in the 1979-80 season.

KOCHI: Former Kerala Ranji Trophy captain A Satyendran passed away in Hyderabad on Friday. He was 78.
Satyendran played 32 first-class matches for Kerala from 1970 to 81 and scored 1291 runs. His lone century was 128 not out against Karnataka at Shimoga in 1979. He also used to bowl medium-pace. He captained Kerala in five matches, four in 1973-74 season and one in the 1979-80 season.
Satyendran had been in Hyderabad for years as he was employed with the State Bank of India.

He served as an executive member of the Hyderabad Cricket Association and was part of the veterans' cricket body in the city. He is survived by wife and a daughter.
